Fishing Well
Inside myself there is this well of ideas, battling to emerge. My muse visits this well, (sometimes at the most inopportune times) throws in a line, and reels in a new project to drop in my lap.
She’s so proud of herself that I can’t help but allow myself to accept the new story and let it flow. Sometimes it wriggles free of our grasp and leaves an unfinished tale behind. My muse stares at me, aghast, “How could you dare let it get away? Can’t you write any faster?”
Other times we hold tight enough to make it all the way to ‘The End’. She takes our trophy and holds it up proudly to show it off before mounting it to the wall for posterity.

Your description of the creative process is so vivid and relatable! It’s fascinating how your muse brings ideas to life, even if it means catching you off guard.
