“Connie, are you sure you want to do this?”
“Absolutely, June! Going over the Falls is the last thing on my bucket list, and I’m running out of time. Doc gave me 6 months over a year ago.”
June wiped the tears and continued following the GPS.
Connie continued, “I’m so glad you came. If the Falls take me, so be it.”
“Don’t say that! I’m not ready to lose you.”
“Just sayin’ I’m ready. I’d rather go out this way than laying in a hospital bed waiting.”
“You have reached your destination,” a robotic voice announced.
“Huh. I expected more cars. Maybe because it’s early?” Connie looked around, confused.
“Maybe? Let’s go see what we can find out.”
A few moments later, the two friends discovered the reason. A large sign read, “Due to unforeseen circumstances, Niagara Falls has run dry.”
“Well, crap. Guess today’s not the day either.”

Dang it! I hate when that happens! We took a 3 hour bus tour of Niagara Falls a few years back. The tour took more than 5 hours! I was pretty sure the bus driver was dropping us off at spots to get out and look around then going to the bar and having a drink or two then coming back (eventually) to pick us up and drop us off somewhere else just to leave us again. The icing on the cake was when he told us about his Canadian girlfriend that he was going to meet on the bridge one day and marry her. I asked if he had a picture of her, expecting him to take out his phone and show me a cute pic of the two of them but to my surprise he pulled out his wallet and showed me a 1980's glamor shot of a big haired young lady with a denim jacket and smokey eyes!!!!!!
This is such fun and perhaps indicates she had someone looking out for her!
